IRONY...

There are those in history who "loved" a "truth" so much,

They burned others at the stake (in this world),

Because "THE TRUTH" of those burned, did not reflect their mere "love."

CONVERSELY

There are those in history whose "truth" exemplified only "love,"

Unwittingly staking others to be burned (in the netherworld),

Because their MERE LOVE, wasn't reflective enough of "The Truth"

TRUTH without LOVE is like a dry river bed; it gives direction but no life.

LOVE without TRUTH is like a vast swamp land; it has plenty of life, but no direction.

COMBINED

LOVE and TRUTH are like a wide river valley, plenty of life on both sides, while still providing direction.

Perhaps one of the greatest challenges for the Christ-Follower,
Is striking the constant, circumstantially-driven,

Elliptical Balance,
Of practicing the

The LOVE of Christ's TRUTH,

For the TRUTH of Christ's LOVE

The greatest heresies in history
Are Always some contextually driven form,

Of privileging one of these dynamics
(Truth or Love)

Exclusively over the other...

HUMANLY speaking: If the severity of God's "JUSTICE" isn't a true and ever present certainty, then the beauty of God's "GRACE" can't be an ever true and meaningful reality. DIVINELY speaking: JUSTICE and GRACE are eternal and irreducible divine attributes - THE celestial polestar points on an equally balanced axis. To marginalize the function of one is to compromise the nature of the other....

There are those who naively believe that "LOVE" exclusively can overcome the world. And there are those who confidently believe that exclusivity to "TRUTH" can save the world. However, too much "love" creates "cripples" of those who openly receive it; and too much "truth" comes from "cripplers" of those who unerringly believe it. Godly WISDOM knows these two to be symbiotically balanced.

CALLING

Most “callings” are never fully realized.

Because many of us
unwittingly constrain and orient
our lives relationally:

More according to what we Fear in
rather than what we Hope for,
more of what we are Doubtful of
rather than what we Trust in;
more against what we Hate
rather than for what we Love.

It is the difference between
being rooted and embracing our existence in
the grainy negative

of a black and white photo
and a photo that exhibits
the full-color spectrum.
