A Question From A Student Pertaining to "The Fall"

"I guess my question is: 'Why did God tear apart perfection because of one sin, did He feel that they would continue to sin?'"

My Answer: "Self-Rule" That Rules Only From The Self, Necessarily Means, that The Self Is the ONLY Rule. The Created Order Was Torn Apart Because the "Self" Ruled... rsg. 6-10-08

Rich,
Along those same lines...
God did not tear apart perfection; mankind did. Adam was created with the ability to ascend to God in deification or descend into the carnal state. Man chose to turn from deification and God and therein the only Source of Life. Thus, the Fall was the natural result of Adam's choice not God's inflicted punishment for God is not the author of death but of life. So, "self-rule" like you said...read "The Ancestral Sin" by John S. Romanides...you will enjoy it.
