The Design of the Universe and Intelligent Design

Whatever your thoughts about this subject, this is important to watch and learn if Christians are to have the "conversation" with those out there who believe science provides all of the answers. I was amazed to observe the surety, confidence and dare I say "faith," with which Smoot describes the origin, construction and structure of the Universe. It seemed clear evidence to me in term of "Intelligent Design." It also heightened tremendously - in an almost overwhelming sense - of God's omnipotence, omnipresence and omniscience.

Rich, This is great stuff! Not only does this content blow your mind, but also I would like to count how many times Smoot uses the word "design" in this 18 minute talk. As you said he speaks with so much confidence and "surety" when he says the word and he does this in a field where I would imagine using the word "design" is not Kosher. I liked what he said about not being able to see the pattern when you are in the middle something. I can understand how someone might lend creedance to a big bang theory if you were just look into the night sky, but if you step back and look at it like Smoot allowed us to you could see the design. It was mind blowing. I felt like for a second that I might be seeing a glimps of what God sees when He beholds the universe. Only He can stand apart from this universe and see it. Amazing!
Also if you are looking for more thoughts regarding conversations with people who use science to answer lifes big questions you can check out my latest post if you want.
